English for the over 30s
Description
This course is designed for more mature students and professionals wanting to improve their English in a more intensive setting with a maximum of 4 students per class.
Our small class size offers the opportunity for students to develop their English on a programme of negotiated content between students and their teacher.
Great emphasis is placed on developing all aspects of communication. You will study all four skill areas, underpinned by grammar and pronunciation.
Our Max 4 classes follow a continuous enrolment system, allowing new students to join every week. Each week is planned as an individual unit, with new students seamlessly integrated at the start and a final task at the end. Although common topics may reappear, we focus on different aspects each time to keep the learning experience fresh and engaging. For example, if we cover presentations, one week might emphasise body language and eye contact, while another focuses on the use of visuals or handling spontaneous questions.
Aims and objectives
Students are enabled to develop all aspects of their English in a supportive classroom environment, with a very low student- teacher ratio.
Progression routes
Students can transfer on to our Exam courses. MAX4 is taught at all language abilities, so students have the opportunity to progress through all the levels of the CEFR.
