English and excursions designed for adults aged 50+

Description

Our programme combines an intensive General English course, taught in classes of 6 students maximum, with engaging excursions around the UK’s most varied, beautiful and evocative region.

Improve your English in the morning, and in the afternoon enjoy activities and excursions around some of the places and attractions that have made Devon so famous. Your fellow travellers will be of a similar age, background and interests.

The programme operates on a two-weekly schedule and it is possible to come for one week or two. Classes are in the morning (maximum 6 students per class) and the minimum age is 50. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, you go to lunch (included in your fees) with a member of school staff and your classmates. We take you to different restaurants around Torquay and this is a great way of socialising in English while making new friends.

Many of our students have forged new life-long friendships on this course.

Aims and objectives

Students gain confidence in using English in a functional and practical way, while enjoying a sample of what life in Devon has to offer.

Progression routes

Some students use this as a springboard on to one of our General English or MAX4 courses, at an appropriate level.
